About
About The EMB Project
A youth-led mental-health and suicide-prevention project, started by two friends. Connection can save lives.
Meet the founders
Why EMB exists
EMB began from something deeply personal: the loss of our best friend, Ellie May Beasley. Losing Ellie changed the way we thought about mental health, support and the importance of feeling heard. We wanted to create something that could make it a little easier for young people to understand what they are feeling, find support, support someone else, or simply know that they are not alone. The EMB Project is our way of turning grief into something that can help others — a movement built around understanding, connection, suicide prevention and hope.
What we believe
Everyone deserves to be heard
You don't need the perfect words or an explanation for what you're feeling to deserve support.
Mental health matters
Mental health is part of being human. Talking about it should feel normal, accessible and free from judgement.
Prevention starts with connection
Checking in, listening without judgement and helping someone connect with support can make a meaningful difference.
You don't have to do everything alone
Reaching out to trusted people and professional support is a strength, not a failure.
What we're here to do
We want to make mental-health support feel less intimidating, less confusing and easier to find. EMB exists to help young people understand, cope, connect and find support. We believe prevention starts long before a crisis. It starts with the conversations we have, the people we notice, the support we offer and the connections we build. Our aim is to make reaching out feel like an option — not something you have to figure out alone.
If you're struggling or worried about someone, support is available. If anyone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
What EMB offers
Ways to understand feelings, get through hard moments, support someone else, remember someone you've lost, and find support where you are.
What EMB isn't
EMB is not therapy, a medical or diagnostic service, an emergency service or a social network, and it isn't a replacement for professional help.
Safety
Accounts are anonymous, there's no messaging between users, and Get Help never needs an account. Read about safety.
